How to Potty Train Your Dog

STEP 1: Introduce Your Dog to the Potty

Dogs aren't born knowing to relieve themselves in the designated potty area; they need guidance from their owners. Therefore, you need to use a leash to guide your dog. Reward your dog with a treat each time it goes to the potty. After several attempts, introduce a verbal command. Once the dog gets used to it, it will naturally go to the potty area.

STEP 2: Utilize Three Potty Training Times to Introduce Your Dog to the Potty

Time 1: Right after eating. Most dogs will go to the potty at this time, so you need to guide them promptly.

Time 2: After waking up, especially in the morning, dogs usually go to the potty on their own after being guided. If this doesn't work, continue guiding them using step 1.

Time 3: When your dog is overly excited, remember to take it to the potty immediately, otherwise it will still relieve itself anywhere.

STEP 3: Give Your Dog Sufficient Patience

If your dog is under 8 months old or has a very excited personality, you need to take it to the potty every 2-3 hours, and reward or cuddle it after it finishes relieving itself, so it understands that this is a correct behavior.
